FCS II Julian Wilson Athlete Fin

With more power in his surfing, a focus on the WSL tour locations, and an underlying desire to stay progressive, the new FCS II JW athlete fin is designed with speed, control and projection in mind.

Julian’s new signature template is different to his original fin that was designed for tight turns and quick tail release in beach break conditions. The updated template now sits in the Carver family of fins and has a higher sweep angle (rake) for longer, more powerful turns. Unlike Julian’s original template that had a smaller centre fin, the new JW tri set also has consistent sizing across all three fins.

The full base generates instant speed and acceleration off the mark, the high sweep offers exceptional projection when taking flight and adopting a more progressive approach, and the curved trailing edge produces a smooth, yet controlled feel when pushing hard through longer arc turns.

The side fins in the set have a subtle bevel on the inside face of the leading edge. This promotes a smoother transition between turns, especially at high speeds.

Available in three sizes: Grom, Medium and Large with a graphic that pairs back to his signature traction pads.

“Its about having 100% confidence to push the fin as hard as possible, while still being able to take a progressive approach”.

“This fin will feel sturdy, fast and predictable with great projection out of the lip, and plenty of control when pushing the board hard through a turn”.

Machine cut from layered fiberglass, Performance Glass (PG) fins have a rigid, highly responsive flex pattern that's generally isolated towards the tip of the fin. This construction is widely used by advanced and pro level surfers because the integrity of the flex is maintained under immense force, and in the most extreme of conditions and situations.
